Toy Swap

I am hosting a toy swap for my friends & family in my area. I think us as long as everyone else is struggling financially. My kids are still young enough that I can get away with giving them genly used stuff as presents without them realizing it. My hubby HATES it, but he doesn't pay the bills, lol.

Here are my directions that I sent out:

Description:

I would like to host a toy swap. A toy swap is where everyone brings toys that their kids have outgrown or no longer play with & would like to exchange it for something “new”. I would like for each person to bring 3 gently used items.

For example: I am going to bring a train set that Bug got for his 1st Christmas. Both kids have absolutely LOVED this train but they no longer play with it. It is red & comes with a giraffe & the 2nd car is yellow & it has a monkey in it. I have all the pieces & it is in EXCELLENT used condition. It just needs new batteries. That is going to be 1 of my items.

Items can include a freezer bag full of GI Joe’s of a bag of Mega Blocks, a freezer bag with a Barbie & some clothes in it. Stuff like that. I would also like everyone to bring 1 adult gift. Such as a couple of books, old taste of home magazine’s, or Betty Crocker cookbooks.

All of our kids are not the same age but I would like everyone to benefit from this. We will set everything out so that everyone can see what everyone else brought. Then we will draw #’s to see who gets to go first.

Say there is 10 people that come & everyone brings 4 items. I will have 4 different bowls of #’s. 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 & 31-40 so that everyone has an equal shot of getting at least 1 thing that they really super want. (Bug’s word, lol).

I would also like anyone that wants to clean out their toyroom to bring whatever they would like to get rid of. After everyone has looked through everyone else’s stuff I will take the remaining to Goodwill. I was thinking our Salvation Army or if anyone has any other suggestions let me know.

***Make sure that everything is cleaned up. Also don’t worry about batteries, but please make sure that the toy works.***

Munchies will be served & we can all mingle. I am hoping there will be a HUGE variety of people. Please invite anyone that wants to participate. This could make Christmas A LOT easier on a lot of us!!!!!

Email with ANY & I MEAN ANY questions. Also please email me with an RSVP. I would like somewhat of an idea as to how many will be coming. Let everyone know & get your toy rooms cleaned out!!!!!

Extra Onery but oh so cute!!!

I tell my little Tinkerbell all the time that she is sooooo lucky that God made her soooo pretty. She is rotten. She has such a STRONG personality. I wouldn't change anything about her though. :)

Momma went to Bat for the boy in the ER

Both kids have been sick since last week. My poor, GRUMPY babies have felt miserable. The only thing they want to do is to be held. Tinkerbell has a cold or is teething again. She has the runny nose, drooling & diarehha (not spelled correctly).

Bug just start being super whiny when he woke up on Thursday & was running a very low grade fever. He kept saying his tongue hurt. I had him stick it out & could not find anything weird on it so I just gave him some Motrin. Friday was the same thing. Saturday morning he woke up bawling saying his tongue hurt again but I still could not find anything wrong & he is still just had a really low grade fever. By Saturday night he was still grumpy & complaining of his tongue so I FINALLY convinced him to let me look at his throat. Sure enough, it was red & covered in blisters. (btw-I felt TERRIBLE by this point for making him deal with it for 3 days.) My Grandma kept Tinkerbell & me Mr. KU took our boy to the ER for some antibiotics. When we got there he was just drooling. He wasn't even trying to swallow because it hurt so bad. They said that he had Strep (which is what I though anyway) & wanted to give him some tylenol & get him him on an antibiotic. When the nurse (gorgeous male nurse btw) came in with a pill, some lube & got some gloves & then explained that he was going to have to give it to him in a suppository because he wouldn't swallow I immediatly objected. I had promised Bug that it wouldn't hurt & I knew that he could swallow he just didn't want to.

The extrememly cute male nurse went to double check with the doctor because they didn't want him to choke on it. I told them he wouldn't & proceeded to have a discussion with Bug. I told him if he didn't swallow the tylenol that they were going to stick the pill up his butt & it would hurt. He swallowed it. :)

Then they let us sit for about 30 minutes so see if it took effect so that they could re-take his temp. Another nurse came in to do his temp rectilly (so not spelled correctly) because he had fought them when we first came in on getting his temp done. I objected once again & got scolded as to making my son promises & that they might not always be able to keep those promises. Anyway, another discussion ensued with my & Bug & as soon as the nurse came back in with the regular thermoneter his mouth was WIIIDDDE OPENNN.

I told Bug, I went to Bat twice for you tonight buddy, your Butt is gonna Thank me tomorrow.

Bug still hurts but has 3 doses of Antibiotics in him & some tylenol & Motrin. Hopefully he'll start feeling better by tomorrow.

These DIY bloggers are such bad influences!!!

When I stare at a velveeta box for 10 minutes to see what I can do with it before I throw it away I know that I have a problem. But that's not a bad thing in my book, just my husbands, lol.

Miss Boss

So apparantly little Miss Tinkerbell is Little Miss Boss at daycare. That doesn't surprise me, look at that beautiful, angelic, mischevious smile. God made her so pretty because man he gave her an ATTITUDE, lol.

MIA

Yes I have been MIA lately. My computer at home burned up & it is kind of hard to blog at work. I do occasionally (like now, lol).

I did decide to chop all of my hair off. At first I hated myself for it (as I knew I would) but now I really really like it. I like it flipped out a little. I call it my Alice Cullen look. :)

Bug still won't let me take his picture. :(

Tinkerbell is still being as goofy as ever, lol.

And here she is eating a poptart through the halloween mask that we keep floating around the house. What? She may be invited to a Halloween party. She wants to be ready.
